The Story Behind ThreePond Art

When at a crossroads, I find myself re-reading Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”.

So in 2025, when my professional career unexpectedly was turned upside down and one giant door firmly shut, I found myself gazing through the windows that began to crack open.

I spent the summer of 2025 up in Vermont at our family’s ski house - finishing up my previous professional life and designing my next chapter - all while playing “puppy au pair” to Phoebe, a precocious yet adorable lab.

Thus…ThreePond Art was born on ThreePond Road in Peru, Vermont.

Artist Statement

Hi, I’m Lisa! While I dreamed of a degree in design and art management, my academics led me to a career in international policy and business. Art perpetually hovered around life’s edges. Wherever I travelled, I found myself wandering around galleries, museums, and in search of local artists and designers. In the end, it proved to be a rich and valuable education.

This next life chapter is dedicated to my own creative practice working in abstract mixed media and design. I am committed to collaborating with clients to find artwork that resonates and adds value to their personal or professional spaces.

My inspiration is grounded in the serendipity of travel and the experience of living around the world. Each piece I create is part of a broader narrative about place, perspective, and presence; a journey where we are moved to look at the space around us, the objects in front of us, and the infinity of the in-between. Through my work, I share my own story while seeking to spark conversations and connections through the interplay of color, texture, and pattern.

As an artist, I embrace experimentation so my aesthetic evolves organically within the realm of abstract mixed media and design. I am not confined to one medium, and enjoy playing in new artistic genres and discovering simple, traditional techniques. I use layers to communicate how perceptions shape what we see.

ThreePond Art is about slo-art, and my portfolio will span a range of media including painting, encaustic, impasto, collage, printmaking, and photography.

I intend to share new collections in 2026, beginning with The Spaces In-Between
